Tim Willis – Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder
Tim Willis is President, CEO and Co-founder of TearScience. Mr. Willis has more than 35 years of medical device industry experience. Tim is an entrepreneur and inventor and has been responsible for the development and launch of 50+ products that today represent over a half billion dollars in annual sales. He has served roles in senior management, R&D, marketing, and corporate and business development at several leading healthcare corporations. Tim is a scientist and engineer who sits on the Board of Directors of TearScience, Life Branch Institute and Trinity Academy. He is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Association of Research in Vision and Optics, and Licensing Executive Society and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.
Donald Korb, OD – Chief Technical Officer & Co-founder
Donald Korb, OD is a clinical professor for the School of Optometry at the University of California, Berkeley and serves as a trustee at the Schepens Eye Research Institute, dividing his time between his practice and research. Dr. Korb holds over two dozen patents related to medical technologies and products along with over 70 publications, discovering and naming ten ocular clinical entities. His inventions have exceeded $600 million in sales. Honors (over 30) include Regents Lecturer from the University of California, Berkeley, Donald R Korb Annual Award and the Contact Lens Person of the Year from the American Optometric Association, Member of the optometry Hall of Fame and 2 honorary doctorates.
Nicole Wicker – Vice President of Finance
Nicole served as CFO for several companies and recently led the successful transition of companies from the start-up stage through acquisition or IPO, including SmartPath and Motricity. Following graduation from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, Nicole started her career with Ernst & Young in the Entrepreneurial Services group, where she worked 11 years and swiftly became lead financial executive in numerous SEC filings, IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, including Highwoods Properties, Divot Golf Corporation, BTI, General Parts, Intellikey, and Optometric Eye Care Center.
Jeff O’Hara – Vice President of Sales
Jeff O’Hara has more than 20 years of experience in the medical device industry. Prior to joining TearScience, Jeff was the vice president of sales for Lumenis, the world’s largest medical laser company, and managing director of U.S. sales for Solta Medical. Jeff earned a master’s degree in business administration from James Madison University.
Diethart Reichardt – Senior Vice President of European Region
Diethart Reichardt brings a wealth of sales, marketing and overall management experience to TearScience having served in leadership positions for several global medical device and pharmaceutical eye care companies. During his greater than 20-year career with Allergan, he built the company’s central European business and served as regional vice president. Later, Reichardt was vice president and managing director international for ChromaVision Medical Systems, a medical device company for oncologists. He was also president of Europe for Ocular Sciences. Most recently, Reichardt was director of global business development for Sauflon Pharmaceuticals, where he re-launched the business in central Europe and focused on market entry strategies for the U.S. and Japan.
Steve Grenon – Vice President of Research & Development
Steve Grenon has more than 25 years of industry experience. Grenon has worked for several market leaders in the medical device and imaging fields. Known for his track record of delivering innovations to market, he has more than 24 U.S. patents and U.S. patents pending to his credit.
Brian Regan – Vice President, Marketing & Market Development
Brian Regan comes to TearScience with more than 20 years experience directing marketing and sales within the ophthalmic medical device industry. Brian has been the architect of numerous successful U.S. and international product launches, with a proven track record of successfully launching or re-launching a variety of eye care medical devices. At previous companies, Brian was the VP of sales and marketing, VP of marketing and practice development, and senior group manager of Asia-Pacific. Brian is a graduate of the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University.
Doug Pinotti– General Manager for Asia Pacific and Latin America
Doug Pinotti has more than 12 years’ experience in the Medical Device Industry and 18 years’ experience in International Sales Management In Asia Pacific, Latin America, and EMEA. Prior to joining TearScience Doug was the International (OUS) Sales and Marketing Director for Medtronic’s Ophthalmic Division. Doug earned a master’s degree in Business Administration from the Darden School at the University of Virginia in 1991.
Christy Mocny – Director Quality Assurance & Supply Chain
Christy Mocny has 15 years of experience in the medical device industry with management roles in quality & regulatory, manufacturing and product development. Previously, Christy led initiatives for medical device leaders STERIS Corporation and W.L. Gore & Associates, Inc. as well as contract manufacturer Ethox Corporation. Her expertise lies in creating quality management systems and keeping them current with ever changing regulations and standards.
Christy Stevens, OD, MPH – Vice President of Clinical & Regulatory
Christy Steven’s background includes extensive expertise in clinical and regulatory affairs, with over 15 years of experience in the ophthalmology industry. Prior to joining TearScience, Dr. Stevens served as Director of Clinical Affairs for Alcon Research, responsible for US and international clinical trials to support regulatory approvals or clinical applications of refractive surgical and diagnostic medical devices. She also served as Director of Clinical Affairs for Autonomous Technologies Corporation. Her education includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Masters of Public Health from Emory University and a Bachelor of Vision Science and a Doctor of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.
